The six regions, up close

Every region Rockstar has confirmed so far — with its official tagline, key locations and what you'll actually do there.

Vice City at night — neon downtown skyline and beachfront, GTA 6 concept art

Sun and Fun Capital

Vice City

The neon-soaked metropolis at the heart of Leonida. Vice City is where the sun never really sets — beachfront art-deco strips by day, pulsing nightclubs and rooftop deals after dark.

  • Ocean View Hotel
  • VC Port
  • Downtown skyscrapers
  • Beachfront strip
Leonida Keys — tropical island chain with turquoise water and boats, GTA 6 concept art

Gateway to Paradise

Leonida Keys

A sleepy island chain of turquoise water and weathered docks — and the first place players see in Trailer 2. Paradise on the surface, smuggling routes underneath.

  • Key Lento
  • Brian Heder's boat yard
  • Island docks
  • Coral shallows
Grassrivers wetlands — airboat gliding past alligators at sunset, GTA 6 concept art

Welcome to the Wetlands

Grassrivers

Leonida's vast, murky wetlands. Airboats skim past gators and wading birds — and Rockstar warns there are deadlier predators waiting in the sawgrass.

  • Sawgrass marshes
  • Airboat channels
  • Gator territory
  • Wetland camps
Port Gellhorn — gritty working port with cranes and dirt bikes at dusk, GTA 6 concept art

Live Hard

Port Gellhorn

A faded tourist strip turned working-class port town. Dirt bikes tear down the boardwalk while container ships loom over the docks — "Live Hard" is a warning, not a slogan.

  • Working port & cranes
  • Boardwalk strip
  • Dirt-bike trails
  • Dockside bars
Ambrosia — sugar cane fields and the Allied Crystal refinery, GTA 6 concept art

Keeping Leonida Sweet

Ambrosia

Sugar country. Endless cane fields feed the Allied Crystal refinery on the shores of Lake Leonida — and a biker gang keeps the sweetest business in the state running.

  • Allied Crystal refinery
  • Lake Leonida
  • Cane fields
  • Biker clubhouse
Mount Kalaga — pine forests and mountain trails with off-road vehicles, GTA 6 concept art

Wild, Wild Country

Mount Kalaga

Leonida's untamed north. Dense pine forests, mountain trails and backwoods towns where hunting, fishing and off-road chaos rule.

  • Pine forests
  • Mountain trails
  • Backwoods towns
  • Lookout points
~2× GTA V*

No official size figure exists. Community analysis of the trailers puts Leonida at roughly twice the size of GTA V's map — unconfirmed.

5 counties

Vice-Dale, Leonard and Kelly appear in official material; Mariana and Lummox are mapped by the fan community.

700+ interiors*

Press reporting on the trailers counts over 700 enterable interiors — shops, clubs, hideouts and homes across Leonida.

Hidden islands

Rockstar quietly scrubbed secret island names from its marketing — read the full story.

GTA 6 map FAQ

Quick answers to the questions everyone asks about the GTA 6 map.

Where is GTA 6 set?

In the fictional state of Leonida — Rockstar's take on Florida — headlined by a modern-day Vice City, its riff on Miami. The game returns to Vice City for the first time since 2002's GTA: Vice City.

How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar hasn't released official dimensions. Based on trailer analysis, the fan mapping community (16,000+ members strong) estimates Leonida is roughly twice the size of GTA V's Los Santos map — but treat that as an educated guess until Rockstar confirms it.

What are the six regions of Leonida?

Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga — each confirmed on Rockstar's official GTA VI site with its own tagline and identity.

Are there islands beyond the mainland?

Evidence points that way: the Leonida Keys island chain is confirmed, and Rockstar was caught quietly removing secret island names from its marketing materials — suggesting more landmasses are being kept under wraps.

When can I explore the map?

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version hasn't been announced yet.
