Home›News›No Disney World in GTA 6: Rockstar Rules Out Orlando and Theme Park Parodies in Leonida

✅ CONFIRMED
For years, GTA 6 fans assumed Florida’s most famous tourist traps would get the Rockstar treatment. Now we finally have an answer: Rockstar has confirmed that Leonida won’t include Orlando, Walt Disney World, or Universal Studios — and honestly, the reason makes perfect sense.
⚡ Quick answer
No — GTA 6 will not include Orlando, Walt Disney World or Universal Studios. Rockstar’s Paul MacPherson told Game Informer those central-Florida locations didn’t make the cut, as Leonida focuses on the southern-Florida corridor: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Smaller parodies like Fred’s Pictures survive.
What Rockstar actually said
The confirmation came from Game Informer’s massive 14-page GTA 6 cover story (issue 382, which went digital on September 29). In the interview, Game Informer asked Rockstar’s senior vice president of environment art, Paul MacPherson, whether Florida’s central region — Orlando and its tourist destinations like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios — would be represented in GTA 6 in some form.
MacPherson’s answer was direct: those exact locations didn’t make the cut.
“We have to constantly evaluate the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations and everything else before we work with design and narrative to distill a list down that best works with and serves the game’s needs. So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!”
It’s also not just the theme parks that are out. Game Informer also asked about Florida’s east coast — specifically NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and the Cape Canaveral Space Force base — and those appear to be off the map too. SeaWorld is likewise absent from Rockstar’s Florida.
The geography problem: Vice City isn’t Orlando
If you’re disappointed, remember how big Florida actually is. GTA 6 takes place in and around Vice City, Rockstar’s stand-in for Miami — and Orlando is a four-hour, 230-mile drive north of Miami. Even with Leonida reportedly being the largest map Rockstar has ever made (roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s, per the same Game Informer coverage), stretching it all the way to central Florida was never realistic.
Rockstar’s design philosophy, per MacPherson, is about distilling Florida down to what best serves the game — and a fictional Orlando would eat an enormous amount of map real estate for a region the story never needed.
How the “Fairyland” theory started
This confirmation puts a stake through one of the community’s oldest map theories. Back in 2023, a fan-made map of Leonida cobbled together from leaked materials included a place called “Fairyland” in the northern part of the state. Fans ran with it: surely this was Rockstar’s legally distinct Disney World parody.
The idea picked up enough steam that Florida-born Jay Klaitz — the actor behind GTA 5’s Lester Crest — mused about it in an interview this April, saying it would be “interesting” if Rockstar went there and suggesting it could even be called “Psycho Park.”
Fun as that sounds, MacPherson’s answer seems to shut the door on any big Orlando-style theme park waiting for players to cause chaos in when the game launches on November 19.
The parodies that survived
Here’s the good news: not every Disney-adjacent joke is dead. ComicBook.com’s coverage notes that Rockstar appears to be parodying Disney in some form — players have spotted logos for “Fred’s Pictures,” the obvious Disney spoof film studio first seen in GTA 5, and a Minnie Mouse-like character can be seen in the extended gameplay reveal, suggesting Fred’s Pictures may play a bigger role in GTA 6.
There also appears to be an alligator-themed park in the game, which feels like the most Florida thing imaginable. And the series has a long history with amusement parks — GTA 5 let players ride a roller coaster and Ferris wheel at Del Perro Pier, and GTA 4 had Funland, a closed amusement park inspired by Coney Island.
So while you won’t be joyriding through a parody of Magic Kingdom, Leonida won’t be short on places to get into trouble.
What this means
This answer quietly tells us a lot about GTA 6’s map boundaries. Leonida is a southern-Florida game: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga — the six named regions Game Informer’s cover story identified. Everything points to Rockstar going deep on the Miami-to-Keys-to-Everglades corridor rather than wide across the whole peninsula.
It also settles the mission-design picture: no theme-park heists, no Space Coast rocket-launch set pieces. Rockstar is concentrating its biggest-ever map on the wildest, swampiest, most Vice City slice of Florida — and given what we’ve seen in both trailers, that slice already looks more than big enough.
For fans tracking every reveal ahead of the November 19 launch, this is another boundary marker: Rockstar keeps telling us exactly what Leonida is — a denser, meaner, more detailed slice of southern Florida — rather than promising the entire state. Every “what’s missing” answer sharpens the picture of what made the cut.
RIP to the “Psycho Park” dream. But if the alligator park rumors hold up, Leonida will have its own flavour of Florida weirdness — and it’ll probably be funnier than the real thing anyway.

Why isn’t Orlando in GTA 6?

What Florida locations are confirmed for GTA 6?
Game Informer’s cover story names six regions: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga.
Are there any Disney parodies in GTA 6?
Yes. Fred’s Pictures — the Disney-spoof film studio first seen in GTA 5 — appears in GTA 6, alongside a Minnie Mouse-like character and an alligator-themed park.
What was the GTA 6 Fairyland theory?
A 2023 fan-map theory claimed a northern Leonida location called Fairyland was Rockstar’s Disney World parody. Rockstar’s Paul MacPherson has now shut that down, confirming no Orlando-style theme park made the cut.
