GTA 6 Pre-Order Guide: Editions, Prices, Bonuses and Key Dates Before November 19

There are 52 days left until GTA 6 launches on November 19, and pre-orders have been open since June — but Rockstar’s offer is more layered than a simple Standard vs Ultimate choice. Between the two game editions, the Vintage Vice City Pack, the GTA+ free month, the pre-load date and that code-in-a-box physical edition, there is a lot to get right before launch day.

Here is every edition, every bonus and every key date in one place, so you can lock in the right version with zero regrets.

The two editions at a glance

GTA 6 comes in two versions on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. There is no announced PC version, so console is the only way in on day one.

  • Standard Edition — $79.99. The full GTA 6 story campaign with Jason and Lucia, and every pre-order bonus.
  • Ultimate Edition — $99.99. The full game plus a stack of in-game extras: exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing, tattoos, shops and a side mission.

Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Store and retailers. The crucial thing most players miss: Rockstar has said Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately at any time after purchase. That single sentence removes almost all of the now-or-never pressure around the $99.99 version — though Rockstar has not confirmed the standalone upgrade price yet.

What is in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition

The extra $20 buys in-game content only — no early access, no extra story campaign, no physical extras. Here is what outlets tracking Rockstar’s official listings have confirmed:

  • Exclusive vehicles: the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, Dinka Enduro, Crest Kayak, Vapid Ganado Retro Build, the Shitzu Squalo boat, and additional classic cars.
  • Exclusive weapons: the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, plus engraved Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 variants.
  • Exclusive locations and shops: Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie’s, Sara’s Unisex Salon, the PTT Youngin$ illegal-goods store raid, and the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay.
  • Missions and activities: the “Classic Car Collection” side mission plus an extra side activity.
  • Cosmetics: extra outfits, hairstyles and tattoos for both Jason and Lucia, including the Electric Fang tattoo.

One detail worth knowing: the Ultimate extras unlock progressively as the story unfolds, similar to how Red Dead Redemption 2 gated its special-edition content behind chapters. You will not see everything on day one even if you pay the full $99.99.

Every pre-order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack

Whichever edition you pick, buying (or pre-ordering) before the cutoff gets you the Vintage Vice City Pack. Store listings word the deadline as purchases made prior to 19 November 2026 at 23:59:59 — in plain terms, buy before launch day ends.

The pack includes:

  • A two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan.
  • The Shore Court Garage near Ocean Beach to keep it in.
  • Retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia.
  • A tropical palm-tree weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s shirt, usable on most guns.
  • One month of GTA+ — digital pre-orders only. That means GTA$500,000 deposited into your GTA Online bank account plus the rotating GTA+ games library.

A warning on that GTA+ month: it renews automatically and starts charging you when the free month ends, and the redemption window runs to March 31, 2027. If you do not want the subscription, cancel it the day you redeem it rather than trusting yourself to remember four weeks later.

Key dates to mark on your calendar

  • June 25, 2026 — pre-orders opened.
  • November 12, 2026 — digital pre-load opens at local midnight, giving you a full week to download before launch. Physical retail copies also go on sale this day.
  • November 19, 2026 — launch day. GTA 6 unlocks, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album releases, and the $399.99 Vice City Collection collector’s box ships.

Rockstar has confirmed a date but not a launch hour, so do not trust timezone calculators you see floating around. Store listings point to a rolling midnight-local-time unlock, which matches how Rockstar handled GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Check the countdown on your own store page during launch week.

The disc question: what “physical” actually means

Here is the part that still surprises people. According to Rockstar’s official store listings, the physical Standard Edition ships with a download code in the box, not a disc. The boxed copy triggers the same digital download as a store purchase — which is also why physical retail sales start on November 12, the same day pre-loading opens.

There is also a separate $399.99 collectible — The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection — and it is merch only: 11 items, no game included. We broke down the full contents and the fan backlash over its price in our earlier coverage.

Which edition should you buy?

For most players, the answer is the Standard Edition. You get the complete story campaign, the full Vintage Vice City Pack, and the GTA+ month if you buy digital — and you can still buy the Ultimate upgrade later if you decide you want the extras. There is no content you permanently lose by starting with Standard.

Pick the Ultimate Edition if you are a completionist who knows you will want the exclusive vehicles, weapons, shops and missions from the start — and you are comfortable paying for content that stays locked behind story progress for your first playthrough anyway.

One thing nobody should pay for: anyone selling “GTA 6 early access” is selling you nothing. Early access is not listed among any edition’s contents.

What this means

The smartest GTA 6 purchase right now is boring on purpose: pre-order the Standard Edition digitally before the end of November 19, grab the Vintage Vice City Pack and the GTA+ month for free, and start your pre-load on November 12 so you are playing at midnight instead of watching a progress bar. Save the $20 Ultimate decision for after you have played the opening chapters and know whether the extras actually appeal to you.

52 days. Vice City is almost open.
